My 3rd Liebster Award Nomination?

This is my 3rd Liebster Award Nomination since I started my blog and although, I am very excited for it yet again, I question if my blog has actually been making progress. Perhaps it's a good sign my blog gets recognized, but there hasn't been a progression in the amount of views and followers I have. Am I lacking something?

Anyway, thanks to Le'Shawn from March To December I have been nominated for the Liebster Award! Thank you so much for the nomination, it means a lot!

Here's a brief description on how it works:
Once you get nominated you write a post on your blog answering 11 questions your nominator asked of you along with a list of 11 facts about yourself, 11 questions for people you nominate, and 5-11 blog nominations of your own. The people you nominate must have 200 followers or less and must be notified. Then they too pass along the achievement. Liebster is a German word for lovely and endearing. It's supposed to signify your blog as a great start and establish some links in each other's blogs to gain more followers.

So to get started I'll answer the questions I was asked.
1. Go back 10 years what advice are you giving the younger you?
I think I would advise my young self to start blogging and creating the projects I do before. Then was a better time to start, now there is just too much competition!
2. Most people can find things to "fix" about themselves. What do you love about yourself?
I love the fact that I am confident enough to do what I like do. Although, I'm not very confident, that is the one thing that's an exception.
3. Are you a "glass half full" or "glass half empty" kinda person?
Glass half empty. I'm optimistic, but not THAT optimistic.
4. What is one goal you have for your future?
    Be a millionaire by 25!
5. What is the theme song for your life?
There is a band called SafetySuit whose single "The Moment" would be the theme song of my life. It's a dark sounding song, but hey everyone has a dark side.
6. What was your favorite toy as a child?
I had this doll named Suzy that I took with my everywhere!
7. If you could chose one fictional character or deceased historical person to spend the day with, who would it be?
Steve Jobs, he's historical right? ;)
8. What phrase or word do you overuse the most?
     Meh.
9. What completely creeps or grosses you out?
Insects or bugs of any type.
10. If you were unable to live where you live now, where would you live?
That's a good question, I'll get back to you on that.
11. Who is the most inspirational person in your life?
My parents, my sisters, and my best friend.

11 Facts About Me
  1. My favorite color is Pink.
  2. I love Subway out of all the other fast food restaurants.
  3. I started building websites since I was 12 years old.
  4. I'm in the process of writing and publishing a full-length novel.
  5. If I could be an animal, I'd be a Penguin!
  6. Iced Coffee and Chai Tea Lattes are both things you'd normally see me ordering at Starbucks.
  7. I like having an account on every social network out there, it helps me get my name out there.
  8. I refer to my little sister as munchkin online and offline.
  9. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.
  10. I enjoy taking lots of pictures.
  11. I wear contact lenses and glasses occasionally.

A Happy Father's Day

Last Sunday, I had a great time with my family celebrating Father's Day. We took lots of pictures and even a Vine mini-video on our way to our family dinner.

Doesn't this pizza look good? We ended up dining in Cici's Pizza Buffet. It was enjoyable for both my little sister and my father! The green pepper and mushroom slice was my favorite here. However, I tried everything! This picture is just the last round of pizza I had. My all time favorite is the buffalo chicken topping pizza. Spicy chicken and pizza, that's my favorite combination.

HA HA! My little sister is too cute. She never fails to keep car rides entertaining.

Pizza, cute car ride moments, and a happy father- makes a great father's day!

Show Me Some Positivity

Everyone gets tired and overwhelmed sometimes. It's only because we're human and no matter how much we love to do our jobs or be busy for own sake, we all need some sort of a break.

Whether it's a break from your daily routine, people you have to deal with everyday, or all the things cluttering up your to-do list that you are told you have to do (all the things I'm tired of)...a break is very well needed.

I took this photo via Instagram yesterday and even captioned it "Perhaps smiling for an Instagram photo will help make feel a bit better and even brighten your day too!"

I actually try to smile through everything and I'm rarely ever not smiling. I try to keep things positive.

I understand we all have stuff to do deal with, but what makes your problems bigger than mine? And what right do I have to say that I have more problems than you? How can one measure another's life with their own?

My point is, we all should try to be positive no matter how tired we must be with the battles we face in life. It keeps others around us happy. It makes your life easier as well as others and well being positive is a good thing. We need more positivity in the world we live in.

Aren't we all misunderstood?

I want to start by clarifying something. I don't hate my peers. I don't hate anyone for that matter. I dislike how I am treated with my peers and how I feel I'm not as understood as I should be among them.

Let's face it each and every day something new comes out and after it becomes a trend with a certain age group, everyone aims to get it and carry it on. However, in every group of peers there's always one or a few people that would rather crawl into a corner and blog about how the new UGGS that came out are not for them. That's me!
I'm the one the could care less about the newest fashion trend or what celebrity or show is most popular. I admit that in some cases there are certain trends I like and some cases where instead of beating the crowd I join the crowd, but it's only because society has made us all this way. We eventually give up and join the hype even for a little while.

I'm writing today to prove a point about work ethics and why working with my peers tears me up inside (well... just  a tad).

How does any of what I said relate to the topic? Well I have always longed to make friends as I was growing up in a small town while I was attending a public school. I always tried to fit in. It upset me how everyone I tried to be friends with did not care to know much about me. In my head I was this wonderful little girl with a mind full of amazing ideas and creative thoughts. I believed everyone would be my friend once they knew how creative and wonderful I was, but they didn't. I was the outcast. I went from being a little girl who wanted a friend to being the geek in school no one understood. (Even today, I'm still very misunderstood).

This affected the way I worked with people my age. No one would really understand or even grasp a bit of my ideas. I knew my ideas weren't exactly right, but that didn't make them wrong either. After years of trying to reach my point across in a group, I wasn't able to. I stopped. I just went along with the groups' idea. I just joined them.

Same goes for me with work experience. I've been to two interviews over the course of three months. I haven't been able to WOW! any of my interviewers. Either I'm not getting a fair chance with anyone or I'm just not good enough.

Truth is, I grew past those days in a group project where I'd be misunderstood and realized that working with my peers just isn't for me. Whether its on a project of some sort or in a workplace. I deserve to be understood and I deserve to have someone at least try to understand me.

I mean why work for the man if the man doesn't know who I am?

I asked myself "Why is working with and for others so hard for me?" Then I answered simply, I'm too good for it. I wasn't created to mend my thoughts or bend backwards for a job. I was meant to be a complete individual. Aren't we all meant to be complete individuals?
